SCC Meeting Minutes
Crescent Elementary
September 10, 2025
Attendance: Ashley Bourdos, Emily Dyer, Becky Waddingham, Sara McBee, Kierstin Draper, Tyler Germer, Stephanie Laing
Will Osborne & Natalie Smith attended as visitors.
Meeting Minutes: Motion made to approve by Stephanie, and was seconded by Ashley
PTA Notes: Our first Spirit Night was a huge success! Cookie sales were $379, and online orders brought in an additional amount as well, equaling $1,000.
Land Trust/TSSP: Review of this year’s goals, and formal vote for amendment.
Motion made to approve the amendment by Ashley and was seconded by Tyler. All voted in favor for the amendment.
Action Plan:
- Acadience Fall testing complete
- Grade level small group sorting has begun.
- Small group instruction with interventionists begins September 15.
Behavior:
- ROAR Rules have been reviewed in PBIS assembly
- We now have a full time counselor to support students one-on-one, along with Laura Rupper who will continue working with us part time.
Academics:
- Students are working to complete their i-Ready diagnostics. Our i-Ready trainer has come out twice to guide teachers in data reviews and targeted instructional planning.
- The BLT (Building Leadership Team) attends their first day of district professional development Tuesday, September 16. This will provide them training to support them in leading their teams in PLCs (Professional Learning Communities) throughout the year.
School Items:
- Parent Teacher Conferences are Monday and Tuesday this year. Sign-ups are open.
Concerns: We need more PTA volunteers. Recruit your friends!
Celebrations:
- We have a fabulous new Instructional Coach, Sara McBee. She is doing a wonderful job supporting teachers and their instruction.
SCC Action Items:
- Determine/confirm SCC Co-Chair – Will do next month (some left before we could vote for this)
- Review bylaws – make necessary changes for Spring elections
- Formal vote on Land Trust/TSSP amendment
- Determine SCC calendar dates for this year’s meetings
