SCC Meeting Minutes
Crescent Elementary
October 15, 2025
Attendance: Kiersten Draper, Ashley Bourdos, Becky Waddingham, Emily Dyer, Angela Thompson
Will Osborne and Natalie Smith attended as visitors, action item to vote in as rostered parent members was successfully passed.
Meeting Minutes:
PTA Notes: PTA Fundraiser will begin November. PTA is utilizing Boosterthon to support the fundraising and provide market research. Boosterthon believes we can get $20,000 after Boosterthon’s 25% cut. Each day of the fundraiser has a value so there is a social/emotional component. November 3-7th. Have until 12th to earn money with the Dance-a-thon on the 14th.
Classic Skating night is on Monday, November 10th, from 5:00-8:30pm.
Raising Cane’s Spirit Night is November 11th.
Land Trust/TSSP: Update on Land Trust/TSSP Funding
Behavior:

Teachers and the responsive services team are working on providing appropriate support for students needing more assistance than tier 1.
Academics:
-
Teachers are working on fine tuning specific students’ individual intervention plans based on their benchmark and progress monitoring data.

This week is digital citizenship. The district curriculum is regularly shared, but this week has a larger influence. Caitlin Shaw is the teacher over digital citizenship and has sent out student resources.
Concerns: Tabling the discussion around the parking lot and safe routes to next month due to time limitations.
Celebrations:

The WatchDOGS launch was a success with over 100 in attendance!

We will be celebrating Crescent’s 50th birthday next year – we plan on celebrating big!

Emily Dyer brought forward a motion for Ashley Bourdos to be vice chair. Becky Waddington seconded. All approved.

Review & Approve Safe Routes Plan

Safe Routes Plan for next year must be submitted now. Walking routes are outlined and nothing needs to be updated since last year at this point. Will request from the sidewalk along the west side of the field from the open fence area to the black top for students to avoid mud and snow in the winter season.

Fall Benchmark Acadience Data Presentation
-
Reviewed each grade reading composite and math composite. The goal is to have 80% of students at benchmark or above. The data does include ACC and ELL students.
