SCC Meeting Notes October 4, 2023

PTA Notes: Teachers were supported with food, snacks and treats for conferences last week. Outside duties were also covered after school for teachers so they could get prepared.
- FUNDRAISER:
o No Fuss Fundraiser: Oct. 2-9th
o Coins for Cubs: Oct. 2-9th
- $6, 621: made at bookfair during conference.
- 118 PTA memberships
- RELFECTIONS: Due October 24th
Land Trust/TSSP:
- Last year goals: building a strong al school positive teacher – student relationship.
- In 2022: students made 70%
- In 2023: students made 75% of our total population made 3-5 stars growth from fall to spring.
- First read of this years TSSP and Landtrust
Behavior:
- Training for restorative practices
- Aides available to work with kids and conflict/resolution
- Sensory room: available to help de escalation.
- With general ed: more behavior/emotional needs
- Serious / Minor: looking in past years we are reducing serious, aggressive behaviors. This past school year. Uptick in behaviors before a holiday.
Academics:
- Acadience:
- Grade 1: Acadience Reading: Whole Words read is above 20%!!! Great GROWTH
- CORE5:

- 22-23: if they do 12 units a week that is a years growth. 152 students tested into their grade level. 333 tested below, this is out of 442.

- Little to no lighting in north parking lot:

- We need more lighting in the north parking lot

- Snow removal: reaching out to Sandy city for help for the sidewalks from 300 E. The snow also needs to be dumped west to the opening to the trailer park.

- Digital citizenship is going to be taught in STEM booster.
Concerns: Behavior on the bus? Or the bus driver? Call transportation. If it is a student then reach out to the principal.
Celebrations: We have a very supportive community of parents and families.
