Math Curriculum Updates
-McBee presented info on last year’s DWSBA scores, comparing the scores from the beginning of the year until the end of the year. We are close to district scores but we have work we can do in each grade.
-Amplify is the new math curriculum. This changes the focus of how math has been taught in the past. Amplify will use more manipulatives and relies on the idea that kids need to work through some of their struggles before we jump right in with the answers. The productive struggle is good for the kids because they know answers will come.
-We reviewed a third grade math book to get ideas about what Amplify math looks like.
-There is both a book and online element to the new math.
-We are not going to be using Accadiance next year, we are going to use DWSBA for math.
Review/Update of TSSP goal:
-Last year we wrote our plan in accordance with Accadiance. The district has changed their focus. Anne proposed that we change our goal so we are actually focusing on what we will be measuring.
In spring of 2026, the SCC voted to approve a TSSP goal which aimed to have every grade at 80%. The SCC would like to change our goal to state that 70% of each grade level will end the year at 80% or higher on DWSBA for K-5. This will include ML, and all students on an IEP.
-To help accomplish this new goal, we would like to adjust the budget. It is proposed that we don’t buy I-Ready freeing up $5000. Anne will also check the cost of 95%. These changes will account for $11000 . 3rd grade lost a teacher which means that the two remaining teachers have very large classes. Anne suggested that we put $11,000 toward an aide for 3rd grade. The SCC agreed with the change and we will call for a vote at the next meeting.
Cell Tower fund approvals:
-Cell Tower funds estimated to be about $18000
-$6000 will go into a Principal Discretion “account” which will be used for
-$2,000 ROAR Store
-$3,000 Staff Meals and Incentives
-$1,000 School Improvements.
Ashley Bardous called for a vote, everyone agreed.
